Description:
E2209-16 is an ultra-low carbon nitrogen-containing duplex stainless steel welding rod. It exhibits excellent welding processability and resistance to hot cracking. Due to its low carbon content and inclusion of molybdenum and nitrogen, the weld metal possesses superior corrosion resistance, particularly outstanding resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion. Suitable for both AC and DC polarity, the electrode exhibits good resistance to reddening. It produces a soft arc with minimal spatter and yields aesthetically pleasing weld bead formation. It offers excellent workability and good weldability in all positions.
Applications:
Used for welding similar ultra-low carbon stainless steels in the petrochemical and water engineering industries, such as 022Cr22Ni5Mo3N duplex stainless steel.
Precautions:
1. Prior to welding, the electrodes must be baked at 350°C for one hour; use immediately after baking.
2. Before welding, thoroughly clean the workpieces of rust, oil, moisture, and other contaminants.
3. Maintain low current and short arc operation during welding.
